Princeton homes, and what that means on the day.
In town homes on a small grid near the Rum River, farms and acreage around it, and some newer development along Highway 169.
The older houses in town have narrow stairs and enclosed porches, and the farms have equipment sheds. A Princeton move can be either, so we go over the outbuildings and the stairs during your estimate.
Getting the truck to the door in Princeton.
From November 1 through March 31, Princeton city code bans parking on any public street from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. On Rum River Drive from 3rd Street South to the south end of the Dunn Memorial Bridge, and on 1st Street from 4th Avenue South to 8th Avenue South, parking is banned from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. year round. The Director of Public Works declares a snow emergency when 3 inches or more is predicted. It takes effect at 2:00 a.m. the morning after it is declared, with six hours of notice, and vehicles on any street or public right of way can be towed until it is canceled or the streets are plowed curb to curb. City code also limits trucks longer than 20 feet, or rated at more than one ton, to one hour of parking on any street, alley or public property in residential districts.
Based on the city's own rules as of September 2026. City rules change, so check with the city before move day.
