From November 1 to April 1, St. Cloud enforces odd/even parking from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. regardless of snowfall (on odd numbered days, park on the even house number side; on even numbered days, the odd side). In the seasonal ban areas, including north and west of the Sauk River, west of Highway 15 and north and east of Highway 10, street parking is prohibited from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and paved streets less than 32 feet wide have no parking at any time. The city can declare a snow emergency that lasts 72 hours unless ended sooner, announced through local newspaper and radio, the city website and social media. During a snow emergency, any vehicle in violation of any parking restriction is ticketed and immediately towed at the owner's expense. Downtown, on-street meters have a 3 hour maximum with no parking from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., and posted signs around St. Cloud State ban parking from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on alternating days year round. Anything placed in the street right of way needs an Obstruction Permit from the Engineering Department, and a Dumpster Permit allows a street dumpster for a maximum of 3 days, with none allowed in the parking ban areas during winter.
Based on the city's own rules as of September 2026. City rules change, so check with the city before move day.
