Our goal
We want every customer to be able to request an estimate, read and accept it, sign, pay, send a walkthrough and tell us how the move went without help, whatever their age, eyesight, hearing or the device they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and uses headings, labels and landmarks that screen readers announce.
- Text and buttons are sized for phones and chosen for contrast, tap targets are large, and form boxes use at least 16 pixel text so a phone does not zoom in on you.
- Each page has a "Larger text" button at the top that makes everything bigger and remembers your choice on that device.
- Photos carry a short description of what is in the frame for screen readers.
- The estimate, quote and signing pages show a "Prefer to talk? Call us" line on the step you are on, and no page signs you out or clears your answers on a timer.
- We check our main pages with automated accessibility tools and by hand on a phone and a computer, and we fix what we find.
Known limits
The card form is on our payment processor's secure payment page, which opens when you tap Pay; if it gives you trouble, tell us and we will take the payment by phone or another way. Documents we send as PDF files may not work well with every screen reader; ask and we will read them to you or send the same information another way. Pages from other companies we link to, such as the federal moving guides and Google reviews, are outside our control. Our site has been checked by our own team and automated tools, not by an outside accessibility specialist.
If something does not work for you
Call us at (612) 662-5609 or email info@hiremileway.com and a coordinator will do the same thing with you over the phone or by email, at no extra cost: take your estimate request, read your estimate and documents to you, record your choices and signature by another accessible way, or take a payment another way. Tell us which page and what got in the way, and we will fix it. We answer accessibility messages within two business days.
